Work with the client to set personal goals and explore personal strategies

Once all the possible options have been presented to the client and an option has been chosen, it is important to work with the client to set personal goals and strategies to meet those goals, so they can get the most out of their choices.

Below are listed some of the ways of doing that to include the client and any other significant people in the client’s life.

Encourage input and opinions from all the relevant parties, while making sure that everyone is clear about what is negotiable in the planning process and what is not. For instance, attending some form of drug/alcohol program may be not negotiable for a particular client.
