The social service sector in Queensland is going through a period of large scale changes in procurement, outcome and quality reporting processes. These courses are designed to guide you through some of these major changes and explain the concepts involved, as well as where to find more information.

This course provides an introduction to the social service sector in Queensland for managers and organisations that are new to the sector. It gives information on what it is like to work in the sector, where to find information, and how to run an organisation successfully.

If you are a frontline employee in the sector, you may also be interested in the version of this course targeted at frontline workers, as it has resources specifically on working with clients, training and careers.

This course has been funded by the Queensland Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services.

The purpose of this informative eTraining course is to provide an introduction to the use of outcome measures in service agreements in Queensland from July 2015 by the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services’ (DCCSDS). It is based on the Outcomes paper produced by the Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS) in December 2015, and provided with specific reference to the co-design work on outcomes measures undertaken by QCOSS in 2015.

The Human Services Quality Framework (HSQF) is the first consolidated set of standards developed for human services in Queensland. The framework significantly reduces administrative burden and compliance costs.

The HSQF is being implemented in planned phases over three years through to 2015-16 and flexible arrangements are in place to support service providers with their transition activities.

This free eTraining course is based around the HSQF Quality Pathway training sessions delivered by the Queensland Council of Social Service across Queensland in late 2015.
